About Me
Life can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate at times.
We all deserve support.
That’s where I come in…
Hi, I'm Lisa,
Therapy is an incredibly personal undertaking; you need to find the correct therapist for you. So, let’s get to know each other.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Health and Nutrition Counselor and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities and approaches to achieving wellness and wellbeing in body, mind, and spirit. I honor the role of the physical body in emotional wellness and recognize that sleep, physical activity, and nutrition have a bidirectional relationship with wellbeing.
My Journey
My career in mental health and addiction care began in both hospital and outpatient settings, where I worked with individuals facing acute mental health and addiction challenges. This experience was profoundly impactful and ignited my passion for helping people overcome their struggles.
However, the intense demands of work eventually led to burnout and illness. The constant stress and emotional strain took a toll on my health, leaving me exhausted and in need of recovery. I had to leave my job to focus on healing. Recognizing the importance of self-care, I made the decision to start an online private practice. This shift allowed me to prioritize my own well-being while continuing to support others on their wellness journeys.
My Approach
In my practice, I love working on weight loss because it’s about so much more than calories in and out. It’s about learning to care for ourselves emotionally and physically. I believe that a holistic approach, that considers the whole person, integrating psychotherapy and nutrition is the best way to have sustainable and meaningful change.
Personal Life
I am a wife, mother of two adult children and a dog mom. In my free time, I love staying active, cooking delicious and healthy meals, reading, and indulging in reality TV.
My approach is client-centered and trauma informed, drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches to create a customized and collaborative treatment plan for the individuals I work with.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviours and thoughts by challenging and uprooting negative or irrational beliefs.
CBT for Weightloss and Maintenance focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors related to eating, physical activity, and body image. It helps individuals develop healthier habits, set realistic goals, and build coping strategies to maintain weight loss over time.
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) helps clients identify and transform the negative processing and interaction patterns that create distress. EFT focuses on the development of emotional intelligence and awareness.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) has a strong educational component designed to provide skills for managing intense emotions and negotiating social relationships.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a type of CBT found to be effective for treating those who are “stuck” in their thoughts about trauma.
Self Compassion and Emotional Resilience helps clients to foster a more resilient and positive self-relationship, promoting emotional well-being and reducing negative self-judgment.
Heartmath® Certified Practitioner empowers people to self-regulate their emotions and behaviours to reduce stress, increase resilience, and unlock their natural intuitive guidance for making more effective choices.
Professional Addictions Studies Diploma provides evidence-based interventions, understand the complexities of addiction, and promote recovery and well-being for their client.
“Resilience is not just for surviving the worst day of your life, it’s for thriving every day of your life”
